ROPP: Governance
The Ragnarok Online Preservation Project is an entirely volunteer-led effort to preserve the history of the game Ragnarök Online, created by the company Gravity Interactive in 2000. The project was created as a way of preserving the history of the Ragnarök Online game, but also to preserve the public-domain efforts that sprouted up around the game.
Public-domain and private-domain split
The ROPP project is split into two areas of domain knowledge:
- Private Domain (A.K.A Gravity Official) - Information released by Gravity Corp, and which directly relates to the game itself and its development.
- Public Domain (A.K.A Private Servers) - Structures, software and tools released by the general public for the purposes of reverse engineering of the game, or private servers.
