ROPP's Policy on Account Security is fairly straightforward. For new accounts, you can use a password of 8 characters, although, we highly recommend you make one which is 32 characters at a minimum.
Password managers[edit | edit source]
For members of staff, the level of security is higher -- accounts must be created with 256 characters. This seems a bit crazy? This is designed to incentivise you to use a password manager so that you can manage your passwords more securely. We recommend against using browser-based systems like LastPass, and instead recommend a standalone one such as KeePass, KeepassX or KeePassXC. For more information, see the video below:
