Prometheus was a server emulator and successor of Weiss (Server Emulator). It was developed some time before 2005 and was a comemporary of Vidar (Server Emulator), absorbing members of the Vidar team following the departure of its lead developer.

History[edit | edit source]

Closure[edit | edit source]

It was ended some time mid-2007 by its developer, Tsusai who left the following note[1]:

If you may not have noticed, development for Prometheus is currently on hold.

If and when we decide to resume coding for it is unknown at this time.

I personally have grown a bit tired of patching Prometheus and not understanding anything most past developers have coded (talking about years ago). As for where ChrstphrR is, I believe some life issues have come up and I believe he is doing alright.

Currently, Helios, a new RO emulator from scratch, is in development. BUT I do not wish to turn away everyone, so we have decided to SUPPORT Prometheus and even Fusion, so feel free to come in, and ask away.

As for our international friends, I will be setting up International Support sometime soon. You are not forgotten.
