Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is a 3D Ragnarok Online game released for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. It is also available to play on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via PlayStation Plus, which emulates the Playstation 3 version of the game. It extends the gameplay of the original game, Ragnarok Odyssey, which was also released on the PlayStation Vita and allowed cross-play between PS Vita and PS3. [3]

Added content

Ace features a variety of added content in comparison to Ragnarok Odyssey as well as included all of the original DLC from Ragnarok Odyssey[4]:

  • Tower of Yggdrasil - An area featuring 400 floors of procedurally generated content, as well as online content (which has since been discontinued)
  • Mercenary System - Adds the ability for players to recruit mercenaries in place of players given lack of an online feature.
  • New giants (bosses) - Loli Ruri (Ragnarok Odyssey Ace) and Lord of Death (Ragnarok Odyssey Ace) were added along with other monsters.
  • ACE Skills - New item drops are added for monsters which can be equipped to add new skills.
  • Save Import - allows original save data to be transferred over from the original Ragnarok Odyssey game including character appearance, weapon and monster cards.
  • Additional quests, weapons and items were also added.

Soundtrack

The Ragnarok Odyssey Ace soundtrack was released on Compact Disc (CD) on 29 August 2013 in the United States, featuring compositions predominantly from Japanese composer Kumi Tanioka, but also featured individual tracks from composer Keigo Ozaki and Nobuo Uematsu, known for his work on the Final Fantasy series. The Launch Edition of Ragnarok Odyssey Ace included a copy of the album, and it was also sold separately by XSEED Games.
